Aaron Vaccar Launches the Auto Life Tour and Automotive Social Hub

Posted by Chris Aldrich on March 23, 2011

Aaron has been a friend of CYL for a few years now and we’re happy to announce he’s started the new Auto Life Tour and he recently launched his new website www.autolifetour.com .

About the Tour:
The Vaccar family legacy has been building cars for decades, and is today carried on by the youngest generation; Aaron Vaccar.  In 2006 the Aaron Vaccar Signature Series brand was born to give a name to the custom cars being designed for elite competitions, national and international magazines, as well as featured vehicles at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

Enter 2011, Aaron Vaccar’s AutoLife Tour is introduced for the first time! The AutoLife Tour is a cross-country traveling attraction featuring a massive vinyl-wrapped rig and stacker trailer, wild one-off vehicles, lifestyle lounge display, sponsor give-aways, as well as presenting the limited “Livin’ the Life” award – And it will only exclusively be stopping at 20 select events this year!  It’s all about living the lifestyle and having fun, so stop by and hang!

 About the Website:
The interactive AutoLife Tour website, a.k.a. the AutoLife Social Hub, is a step in a new direction for the modern car culture.  Its all about the enthusiasts, and we wanted to develop something that is directed at ‘giving back’ to the car guys and girls. The site is basically a social network, that works inline with your other networks, but is dedicated specifically for custom car info, events, media, and interaction.  As we post our pictures and videos, share yours too!  If you want to start a blog, a thread in the forums, or live talk with enthusiasts on the chat, its all possible.  The best part of it all, is that its easy to leave comments and one-click share to Facebook, Twitter, Email, and more! You can create your own profile, connect with new and old friends, and even suggest or RSVP to events on the calendar! So, go ahead and give it a try!

These days it seems as though everyone owns a smartphone…with apps, apps and more apps. Well, Dodge just released a lineup of apps that create a means for car owners to stay better connected with the owner’s manual (including updates). They even offer roadside assistance!

If you’re an iPhone user, step to the front of the line. You’ll get the first crack at these apps, followed by Android and Blackberry versions. When you get ahold of the app, let us know what you think in the comments section below. We’d love to hear from you.

Have an Android Phone and no boost gauge? Check this out!

Posted by Chris Aldrich on January 10, 2011

We wanted to share with you a great Android app we came across called Torque. Torque is an OBD2 performance and diagnostic tool for any device that runs the Android operating system. It will allow you to access the many sensors within your vehicles Engine Management System, as well as allow you to view and clear trouble codes.

As auto enthusiasts, this is a great tool that you’ll always have on you. No matter if your at the drag strip doing some tuning or at the grocery store and you throw a CEL, you’ll always know exactly what’s going on with your vehicle.

All you need to do is (1) download the App from the Android Market and (2) buy an OBD2 adapter. An example can be found here. For additional info and accessibility check out Torques’ website and forum.

Here are some screenshots of the App:
